Week #1

We did it!  We survived a whole week in the big city!  It seems to be a shock for some.  I'm amazed at the perception Cleveland has by those living in Manhattan.  Last night topped it off when I was teased by a PRIEST about my hometown.  That's just not right.

So how, pray tell, did you fill your first week in New York you might ask...  WELL, eh hem, glad you asked.  Outside of doing dishes, going to work, taking out the trash, and doing taxes like every other normal American, we did our best to get our feet wet with a taste of social life and a side order of culture.

Pizza - we went to Ray's Original (because aparently that's the best).  MMmmm.  It was a delicious indulgence after a good workout.  We saw this scruffy little greasy-haired boy there by himself and I was wondering if he's a newsie.

Then Friday night - time to go out.  Well, first we hung out for a little bit around the apartment, because even though New York is in EST just like Cleveland, there's a time shift coming here.  7pm is to Cleveland as 9pm is to New York.  OR wait wait, I had a better theory than that.  23yrs old is to Cleveland as 30yrs old is to New York.  And it could be more.  We stepped into a time machine this weekend and were suddenly in college again Friday night (sweet!) and Saturday morning (DOH!).

Saturday - first guilt-free lazy day EVERY since we've been married.  Nice.  Then out to a SUPER early dinner at 7:30pm at Justin Timberlake's place.  The food and the company was great (Kyle's big from her OU days took us there), but JT for some reason didn't honor us with his presence.

Now for a little tourism - we haven't done much yet, and since it has been rainy and cold I thought we should get the indoor stuff out of the way first.  Time to head the The Museum of Natural History!  Did you know it is the largest morgue in the US?  Well it's not, really, but check out all this dead crap they have in there:
Dead Birds

Dead Bears

Dead Elephants

Actually the dead animals I found most interesting were the humans...
(Don't mess with that guy)

And the dinosaurs
Kyle's about to become a dead guy too!

With all this remorse there was nothing that could cheer us more than the most frickin delicious chocolate chip cookie ever!

Great way to end a great week, and to think this was only 1/13th of our NYC adventure.  I'm looking forward to more...

Hahah, lots of dead stuff. The cookie looks good, was it crunchy or chewy?

It was crunchy AND chewy. That's what made it so good.
